New England Shirdi Sai Temple, 9 Shirdi Way, Groton, MA 01450.
March 21, 2020 – 9am to 3:30pm.

Dear IAGB Member and Supporter,

As the threat of the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to expand, Governor Charlie Baker has declared a State of Emergency in Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency(MEMA) is recommending to avoid non-essential gatherings of more than 50 people. The spread of the Corona Virus has been top of mind for most of us and there is no greater importance than the health and safety of our community members. Out of an abundance of caution, IAGB and all the partnering organizations have decided to postpone the Indian Consular camp, which was originally scheduled for March 21, 2020, at New England Shirdi Sai Temple.

If you have registered to attend the camp, and have already completed your application online(CKGS or the consulate website), you can mail your completed application along with the required documentation directly to the CKGS/Consulate office. CKGS/Consulate will process your application as per the normal procedure.  If there are any questions on your completed applications, please reach out CKGS or the Consulate directly.

We regret any inconvenience caused but appreciate your understanding with this matter. The consular camp will be rescheduled to a later date when the situation becomes more conducive to hold the camp and we will announce the details as soon as the decision is made.

During this emerging outbreak, please do take extra care and take steps to protect yourself. Please visit CDC website to learn more.

IAGB Makes History

WALTHAM, MA–India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB), one of the oldest Indian-American community organizations in New England, made history this month by convincing 35 cities and towns from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut to hoist the Indian flag on India’s 73rd Independence anniversary on Aug. 15

Proud Indian Americans looked on with their heads held high as they witnessed the Indian Flag being raised at the Acton town hall, accompanied by Jana-Gana-Mana, the Indian National Anthem. The Indian Flag will fly for twenty four hours at the Acton Town Center to commemorate India’s 74th Independence Day, on August 15th 2020. This is happening for the first time in the history of Acton, thanks to the leadership of the Acton Board of Selectmen (BOS) and Sahana Purohit, a Finance Committee member, who stepped up promptly in response to IAGB (India Association of Greater Boston https://www.iagb.org ) initiative to hoist the Indian flag in 35 New England cities including Nashua, Connecticut and Maine towns.
