Golden Jubilee

The India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) was incorporated in 1962 as the first, premier Indian-American socio-cultural association in Greater Boston. Thus the year 2012 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of IAGB.   Over the past five decades, IAGB has served as the mother organization of over a score of Indian-American cultural and community-service organizations in New England.

With just pride, renewed commitment, and undiminished zeal to continue serving the community, IAGB will be launching India Day 2011 (on August 14) a yearlong grand Golden Jubilee celebration. The goal is to celebrate and salute IAGB’s unbroken, distinguished leadership through the decades in preserving and promoting the rich, diverse, and humane culture of our motherland in the adopted homeland.

To that end, several high-impact events are being planned to showcase the multifaceted talents and the phenomenal achievements, in the span of a few decades, of the Indian-American community of New England.  It is hoped, moreover, that the Golden Jubilee celebration would not only serve to further strengthen the foundations of our community but also as a forum for paving promising pathways for generations of Indian-Americans yet to inherit this Great Land.
