Kerry Emanuel, Professor of Atmospheric Physics at MIT, will give a talk about global warming and climate change at St. Patrick Church, Stoneham, on Monday, January 25, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited, and admission is free.
Prof. Emanuel will talk about the current state of scientific knowledge of global warming, and will identify some of the basic scientific principles that we must understand in order distinguish good arguments from bad ones in the increasingly heated debate on this subject. His talk will be based on his excellent brief book, “What We Know About Climate Change”. (MIT Press, 2007) Copies of this book will be available for purchase.
Please come and join us in learning about climate change and why we must show active moral concern for all people who are threatened by it: ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and the millions of already vulnerable people who will be the first to suffer from it.
